The event has been described as “a celebration of a physical product that is accessible, fun, cheap and still going strong in the turbulent current musical climate”. With their much anticipated eponymous debut LP hurtling our way all too soon, the brothers Eoin and Rory Loveless, aka Drenge, are now pulling out yet another rock-hard diamond in the rough from their formidable arsenal. Their new single "Face Like a Skull" is out on 26th August. Listen below!

Sarcastic is the debut single from brand new indie pop outfit, Octopuses. Formed by guitarist Adam Bell and multi-instrumentalist Alan Grice of similarly C86-indebted Brighton darlings Foxes!, the single is released through their own Big Salad Records.

'Hobo Rocket' is the fifth LP from Perth, Australia based five-piece Pond. The band set out to make a record that captures a portion of rock music's great, decadent history through a personal lens. Known for their brutally raucous live shows, Pond have captured that intensity on record, cramming as much loose, live emotion into a 40 minute album as possible. 'Hobo Rocket' will be out August 2nd (AUS), August 5th (UK/EU), August 6th (USA). The record is available to listen to in full HERE

Fuck Buttons cracked the UK top 40 album chart! That's amazing news for UK music and for the Fbuttons themselves! We're dead chuffed for them.

#ff ft. Drenge, The Quietus, Cornelius & Vine

Remember when people actually wrote great music based features. Well, The Quietus still do, whilst simultaneously keeping you aflout of all the best music news. Be sure to follow and start discovering why music journalism is as relevant as ever.

We love Cornelius, and whilst he rarely says anything of note on his Facebook, he is a source of goodness on Twitter. Today he's telling us about the new Ghost in a Shell movie soundtrack. Awesome.

"A punky blues-rock duo from the Peak District obsessed with Danish avant-garde cinema". This brotherly twosome make quite a fantastic noise, and if they're not updating you with musical news, they'll be telling you about a cool bus they saw.

Well, we're Vine purists. We've been loving the Twitter spawned app, and we think everyone should be on it. For us, the creativity and ease of use afforded to owners with six seconds is quite unique. Today they've introduced a ghosting feature. Nice.
