Mazzy Star have reformed for their first studio album in 17 years. Seasons of your Day will be released on the bands own label Rhymes of an Hour Records, on the 23 September. They’ve unveiled new track from the record ‘California’ – check it out.

PINS are releasing their debut album, via Bella Union, on the 30 September. Check out a track from their double A-side below. We’re pretty excited about this! They’re also playing Birthdays on 9 October, so be sure to pop along if you’re in that neck of the woods.

International CASSETTE STORE DAY was announced this week. It will take place at Rough Trade on September 7 and will see limited releases from its organisers - SEXBEAT (Fucked Up), Kissability (Los Campesinos!) and Suplex Cassettes (Fair Ohs, Proper Ornaments); as well as classic albums reissued in this fun format by Transgressive (At The Drive-In, Pulled Apart By Horses), Bella Union (The Flaming Lips), Domino (The Pastels), 4AD (Deerhunter), Wichita Recordings (Hard Skin), Burger Records and many more.  Other labels involved spreading the Cassette love with limited releases are Night School, Jade Tree, Mirror Universe, Reeks of Effort, Art is Hard, Faux Discx, Tye Die Tapes and more to be confirmed.

We’re pretty thrilled to announce that Cardiff-based five-piece Joanna Gruesome will be releasing their debut album Weird Sister via Fortuna POP! (Europe) and Slumberland (USA) on 16 September. Have a listen to ‘Secret Surprise’, off their album, below:

If you were lucky enough to catch Cocorosie's amazing show at the Barbican on Saturday night, you might be pleased to know that they've announced two dates in September to support their new record (Manchester Academy 2 on 29th and The Oval Space, London on the 30th.)
