SNH Advent #21 - Cold Pumas

Cold Pumas are great. We put them on and they dazzled us with hypnotic post punk noise antics. They just released their debut Persistent Malaise which we strongly recommend buying from here. Before you do however, read on as they joined us in the interview hot seat.
What were your highlights of 2012?

The ITV highlights of the European Championship. The silent tears of Adrian Chiles in the green room. Roy's mellowed, but this is a step too far.

What can we expect from you in 2013?

Some conservatively-hedonistic scoots across the channel, if not the pond? A tentative approach to the post-debut chills (dare I say a sophomore effort?)
And, if not that, then certainly a bloated televised cover of A Whiter Shade of Pale (I'm coming Jools, did you or Rowland Rivron squeal Hootenanny!)

Can we have a link to a Christmas track that you like please?

Why this track?

Since trying to find an accurate version of The Orioles original recording online, I've realised it may well have unfairly ended up in people's most detested Christmas songs. You see if you take the wrong turn on the Goggle, there really are some truly acrid cover versions waiting to ruin it forever. These include vomiting yuletide ukelele smugness from Zooey Deschanel (I'll pardon JGL) and the heinous post-Jack Johnson apocalyptic watermark: dudejerk w/dreads.

Anyway, the original (which sadly has twenty times fewer views than ukelele Phooey's ten million plus) really gets me. Doo-Wop and Christmas as a pairing can be a little too cloyingly succinct sometimes, but this is perfect, and it has some really anachronistic (or conversely nostalgic) chord changes just to see it through if you haven't already melted away into a pit of wintry poignancy. Admittedly by the time New Years Eve (my least favourite of all the eves) rears her ugly head, Christmas too is just a damp pang of dashed regret in the corridor of the family home, but this, coming from a position of optimism about the seasons crux, leaves me feeling I may one day end up at the ball in An American In Paris, instead of the usual yawn. http://youtu.be/sWNV4AXt_7c?t=21s

Can we have a link to one of your tracks please?
