Passenger Peru are ex-Antlers bassist Justin Stivers and multi-instrumentalist Justin Gonzales. I'm actually pretty excited by the foot-tappingly great sounds these guys are creating. Veering away from the aching despair purveyed by the Antlers, Passenger Peru instead create a DIY soundscape emblazoned with fiery, upbeat rhythms and pumping bass lines. They remind me of Yo La Tengo, Modest Mouse and Pavement meshed with the Unicorns (which would be an interesting looking beast if it existed). Give 'em a listen:
