Chaotic SNH veterans Ice, Sea, Dead People
are releasing a new double a-side 7" picture disc for You Could Be
A Model and Ultra Silence, from the band’s new album due
next year on Lost Toys Records. This picture disc is the first ever record
designed by Daniel Eatock (Big Brother logo, Indexhibit, eatock.com) made in collaboration with Andy
Holden (solo exhibition as part of Art Now at Tate Britain in
2010, andyholdenartist.com).
The records were made as part of a one
night live event at Stanley Picker Gallery, Kingston University, with fans of
the band and students all taking part. The band set up to play in an ‘infinity
cove’ in the centre of the gallery, playing the same two songs over and over.
Those participating then used the turntables they had brought with them to draw
a line upon a 7” circle of paper.
Check out the video below - it's a pretty cool idea.
