FatCat Records are responsible for bringing us some of the finest artists in recent years, The Twilight Sad, U.S. Girls, Mazes and Maps & Atlases to name but a few. Dead Gaze are one of their newest additions, and what an addition.
Dead Gaze is the brainchild of Cole Furlow who has been releasing material under the guise of Dead Gaze since 2009, recently morphing into a five-piece live band. The below track "I Found the Ending" has been released as free download via the Dead Gaze's Facebook, and is a taster of what to expect; lush dreamy production, 80s esque keys married against some distorted guitars and some pop laden vocals.
Their album, ‘Dead Gaze’ is out now on FatCat sister label Palmist as a vinyl LP and digital download in the UK from the FatCat website, with two exclusive bonus tracks for those that buy the digital version. Do it.

MAZES release Ores and Minerals - 18/02/13
MAZES will release their new record, 'Ores &
Minerals' on February 18 via FatCat Records.
Of the album, the band's Jack Cooper says, "We set about
trying to make a record that was far more original and broader than the first
one... a representation of all the things that inspired us rather than a small
portion. We began writing with us in mind...playing to our strengths.
"Bodies" was the first song...like most of the album written to repetitive
loops and drones. The demo had an Arthur Russell drum loop because it sounded
how Neil drums so I guess that's where we were at. Without saying 'there's
always been a dance element to our music', I think we wanted to write songs
that people might be able to move to, if the mood was to take them and there's
something incredibly satisfying in repetition."
We’re big MAZES fans and we’re super pleased they’ve got some
dates lined up in support for their new record. You can catch them on the
